:swear: 2005 eton beamer 2 big bore 70cc pwk 24mm carb and reed kit technigas exhaust power on take off was fine t0 15mph then blah then power comes back in around 30mph good torque up to max around 48 mph well ramping up 30 swas awful so i bought new variator with 5 g 9 g rollers and a 1500 torque spring put on now worse but take off great now im lucky to get to 35 up slight incline 20 mph if im lucky tried both sets of roller its not slipping motor boggs down try adjusting carb tried with out exhaust with it please if anybody has a suggeston i would be greatful its like driving my car with catalyic converter stopped up
5g to 9g is a big jump in weight. You may just need to spend more time with tuning the CVT. Perhaps try mixing the 5g and 9g weights, put them in staggered... 5g, 9g, 5g, 9g, 5g, 9g, so it's essentially like 7g weights. The stiffer contra spring will mean that you need more weight than you would with the stock contra spring, so pick a spring and work on finding weights to match it. If you go back and forth it will just make tuning harder. With your setup, I'd prob try to get it right with the 1,500 contra, cause 5-9g may be too heavy with the stock spring.
24 seems big as the Power Kits come with a 21mm and many use the smaller stock carb like my 19mm TK . Most use 4 or 5 gram rollers or sliders as 9 seems too heavy to me . Maybe a 1k or 1.5k clutch spring set may help improve take off . Its hard to have both ends as you can go for take off OR top end .
Stock airbox or a Uni airfilter ? My 2T was faster with the 49cc engine , which is weird to me , but with the BBK top end is way faster along with the mid range .
Carbs are like boobs , a lil bigger can be great but there is also over kill which will hurt performance instead of improve it . Have you tried carbon fiber reeds ? Did you put on a new belt with the BBK ?
well i put every thing back the way it was went ahead and put a new 70cc bbk tested ok went back put contra spring 1500 on with the rollers that were already in it i left the spacer out to see how it would do for top end since i dont know the roller weights i going to go back and put 5 g rollers back in also found hose off of intake sucking air fixed now wont idle they say change low idle jet put until i figure that out there was also a smaller hose took it loose now idles debating on putting spacer back in oh and thanks for all the support without it i would most likely would have throwed tarp over it and said the hell with it
5g rollers 1500 contra spring new 70cc bbk impressive take off had plenty of torque all the way to top end didnt want to push so kept it around 45 to 48 mph then it acted like it run out of gas let off throttle it kicked back in then come to stop give it gas take off great after that it all went to hell like something was sticking bogged down couldnt get 25 mph what the hell is going on
again you guys are awesome your guidance was spot on went from take off pulled all the way no lagging or bogging to top end but on down side went to get new belt no one had it tickled figure one more ride before dark again beautiful then fun went to horror thought i just blew it up but still running drive train or cvt not so lucky had to push home took cover off belt look like went thru grinder now mus pull clutch apart to get belt strands out found that the outer sheeve with cooling fins i was able to wiggle back and fourth on spline shaft the star like washer had no teeth left could this have been my issue earlier and what sheeve do you think i should go back with
Whenever you put it back together, make sure no splines stick out past the kick starter pawl. If they do, use a spacer behind that. May not have been the problem, but just check that on assembly.
Another stocker would work, or somefolks like the Hoca or Stage 6 fixed half. Is that damaged though? Most minarelli engines don't have teeth on the fixed half itself, just that star washer. If it's just the washer, you might get away with a cheap repair.
i had managed to get another fixed half and your right the washer had no splines left and found used belt and had changed the gear oil in final drive and over filled had to drain try it again oh yeah i found this site called mortch motor parts are really cheap but its wholesale i started to buy some hipo ignition coils and they had the variator kits with both sheaves the complete set for 5.00 buck again whole sale
? does a hipo cdi and coil really make a difference and still worried there is something wrong with beamer 2 scooter it seems like when i let off the gas coming to a red light it feels like something is slowing it down has if the brake is on checked the brakes i even adjusted them to make sure they werent hanging up is it possile the motor it self can cause it to slow down
Sounds like the CVT is still engaged, so it's engine braking.
Performance CDIs may or may not work. The big problem is that a lot of CDIs aren't any different than a stock timing curve. If you were lucky enough to find one that had a lot of advance and then backed that out on a steady slope, you'd prob be happy with it... but good luck finding that at any reasonable price. You prob won't notice anything with a coil unless yours is not working right.
you know i bought this scooter from my brother it was stolen from him and police found it but when he got it back the damage was already done busted ingnition switch gas cap and wiring dum part is they also stolen his xbox 360 console and keys to scooter was on top of it think i gave him 75.00 dollars now i have sunk enough money into it i could have bought a new one but thats okay im having so much fun and i learned alot never thought i would get hooked when its all said and done probably wont be worth 75 dollars
i bought a racing cdi and it was the wrong one no big deal my fault i should had looked lesson learned well still havent got it right maybe this weekend still having problems with the variator it is coming on strong from dead stop to 20 mph then it changes sudden then struggles to 45 slight incline drops back to 30 i dont know what im doing wrong im 205 lbs i now have 1500 torque spring two rollers 5 grams not sure of the other ones i think 6 grams but still a guess and for kicks i put some old fuel for my tmaxx rc wasnt that good of a idea run fine but it wouldnt cut off wasnt thinking about the nitromethane didnt need spark it only needed compression to ignite duh!!!!
