This was a lot harder than I initially anticipated. I got better metal and things just didn't go well. I did okay with the cones but the header pipe and the flange just plain pissed me off. The harder I worked the worse things got.
I was going to post up some pics, but they actually looked worse than the pipe.
190mech, your future is secure.
I am not Quiting on this just need to walk away, and rethink my approach. {And by then the cuts and burns will have healed}
In the mean time I went for the Quiet Approach Leo GP...

I have to figured out where I went wrong, on the header. It got me so frustrated, I think I reversed one section. it looked okay, so I proceeded to weld it up. When I go to fit it up. I find that I have carefully made a pipe, that fits a 1952 Edsel...... Next time I tack it up, correctly. Bolted end to end. make my tack welds. Then when I weld it, it has a chance. I never got to the 90* at the end of the pipe or the silencer. That is where i thought I would run into a snagg. I will get it done. I appreciate the help you have rendered. This was purely my mistake, okay mistakes on my part. Just a hiccup on the way.... I get it, "MY" pipe makes it worth the effort. Hell if it were easy. we would all be running "our" pipes. I have all winter.

Keep with it, not many people can say they have built their own pipe. There is a saying "if you have never made a mistake, you have never made anything"
