it turns over like it wants to crank, but its not... Brand new spark plug, boot, and coil.

have you tested to see if it actually sparking, you got your switch on done that before lol also make sure you have the spark plug gap correctly .7-.9and what spark plug did you put in

a guy at the scooter shop did the spark plug for me.. how do i check the spark?

Alright so lets get this all straighten out, when was the change in parts done and it has ran after the parts change. but the way you test for spark is to take spark plug out and leave it hooked to coil and place the tip near something metal and hit the starter button and see if you have a blueish spark. Also have you check all the minor stuff switch in run position and gas in the tank

thats correct.. it ran for a day or two after the part change.. The switch is on run, there is gas in it. fairly new carb, checked the gas line, there is gas flowing

Hi, I just got my Baja SC50 to start last week. I checked for spark by putting a phillips screwdriver in the spark plug wire cap and having the shaft near frame ground. You can see the spark that way, if you're careful. If no spark there, try holding one of the coil wires just a few thousandths away from the connector while cranking. I saw a little arc on mine.
My problem turned out to be a disconnected kill switch wire at the connector (DC stator, see my post below if you're interested).
I learned a lot about these ignition systems, having no money for a shop. It seems poverty is the mother of learning! Good luck!
