Since I built my Beamer I've put about 200 mi on it All of the miles were running the stock mikuni carb with an 85 main and stock airbox I had it dialed in pretty good I recently put on a 19mm Dello 90main, and Uni filter, it started fine and had some throttle response with the settings out of the box I haven't had it on the road since the carb change because of crappy weather Now that the weather has broke, I'm tryin to get the dello set up
I pretty sure I have the mix/ idle settings way outa wak It will only start and run with the manual choke on
My question is : does clockwise on the mix screw richen or lean on this carb ? and does clockwise on the idle screw raise or lower idle?
Is there some sort of default (starting point) settings ?

Clockwise should raise the idle.
If the mixture screw is on the intake side of the carb counter-clockwise should richen. If the mixture screw is on the filter side of the carb clockwise should richen. I think most Dellortos are counter-clockwise to richen.
If I think I've got stuff way off I usually screw the mixture screw all the way in and then 2 turns out as a baseline.

Sometimes aftermarket carbs go on and you guess right on the jetting and it's pretty smooth. Sometimes they can take a bit to figure out. I swapped so many jets when I installed my Arreche and Dellorto carbs trying to figure out where I needed to be on sizes and settings. Hope it clears up so you can get it straight.

Getting close, I switched from a 90main to an 82.5 and it's better I was adjusting the mix backwards too... it's the opposite from my other carbs Some more trial and error and it will be dialed in Thanks for the info

Not sure about the pilot Its the 1 that came in it and I never looked at it Although I think the 82.5 main was alittle lean I had it running pretty good this afternoon..... and it shut down on me, its leaking pretty good too Wouldn't start till it cooled down after it cooled it started but wont run for long Pretty sure its soft seized ( i was beating it like a 2dollar whore) Gonna pull it in the next day or 2 Had my eye on a stage 6 streetrace kit for it, might be in the near future now

The Dellos are usually jetted rich on the pilot. Mine had a 60! Softseizen is part of the 2T game

Well, my cherry is busted then I'm gonna pull it and leak test it before I tear it down, it was getting hard to tune and I think the stuff I sealed the carters with gave out on me
