1k rpm contra. new belt needed?

I'm getting a 1k contra for my brothers scoot. He just wants a little uphill rpm so I'm installing a 1k contra and lighter rollers. Do you guys think his stock belt will hold up ok with the stiffer contra? If it were a 2k i know I'd want a kevlar belt so I'm wondering about the 1k, but I'dlike to not spend 40$ on a belt. Thanks

Should be fine with a regular belt of decent quality. I'd suggest starting with either the 1k contra or the lighter rollers unless you are looking for a big jump in RPM.
