Needed to pass DOT rules and regulations.

Example, scooter down, fuel leeking, back tire spinning, need to turn it off quickly, kill switch. Example, throttle is stuck, or brakes fail, have to hold on to keep control, kill switch. The DMV motorcycle course, they recommend using the kill switch at all times to turn off the scooter/motorcycle to make it an automatic habit, and to keep the electronics functional, so when you do need it, it's there.

I had the throttle return spring break and had to hit the kill switch . I have thought about relocating the key switch since twice I bumped it with my knee and shut off the engine while going down the road . A tractor and riding lawn mowers have a switch in the seat so it only runs if one is sitting on it . I had cruise control get stuck on in my Jeep and had to slam on brakes and run off road to avoid nailing a car . I only use the keyswitch to turn off my scooters as to not wear out the kill switch . Great tip on using the kill switch for WOT plug chops

My £600 chinese scooter had one, my £2400 Italian one didn't. Work that one out!

For when a throttle cable gets stuck full open at 30-35 MPH causing you to panic. For when you suddenly hear a horrible screeching or loud clunking sound emanating from the engine at 40 mph. For when you are driving up to a place with a group of people outside and you wanna cut the engine off and coast up all quiet the last 50 feet to look cool.
