You guys ever check out the vids some guys post on Youtube of just the guitar solos from metal songs?
I like to watch 'em cause it's like American Idol. Some guys nail it like the following:
And some guys aren't quite ready for prime time like this guy:
I like SATO the best of all. this guy does good but there's a bunch of 'em that do good.

I've definitely spent some time watching guitar, bass, and drum videos of all kinds on YouTube... wishing I was half as good as a lot of these people. It doesn't even have to be a solo to take a lot of talent with lots of metal songs.
Fun to play, but I sure ain't ready to post my version. lol
I recorded this of a friend of mine doing some drumming.

He's good. If I could have learned double bass like that I probably would still own my drum kit. I just had a hard time with it and never wanted to put the practice time into it. I always ended up holding a guitar if I was gonna play something. Drums are a lot harder than I thought when I got a kit. Just bang out a beat, it's easy. lol Not so much. Especially when I watched my friend in the video try to show me complex time signatures and stuff. Wow. Some of those slow songs are even ridiculous to play. They also take up valuable garage space. ;D
