My bikes normal top speed is usually around 37mph and after I messed with it the top speed droped around 32mph. Also does not accelerate like it did.
I was trying to get the clutch off, remove the variator nut, and removed the fly wheel nut. Just tinkering around. All I got is a 3/8 drive ratchet, and was not able to remove any of the parts.
I checked my carb jets, valve adjustments, fuel lines looked good, checked the air passages, could not find any air leaks. The problem started happening right after I messed with it so I think maybe I did something to my scooter.
Is there any way I may have bent the crank shaft? Seems unlikely. Or messed up compression?
Thanks for the help

If you had removed the variator I would think the rollers were maybe in wrong. You didn't get any grease or oil in the belt area? Sometimes something totally random and unrelated goes wrong, just makes finding it a challenge. Losing power I would think air leeks, or rollers.

Could I have maybe bent he shaft that the clutch rides on? If it was a bit bent the belt would have problems riding evenly maybe? I can spin my back tire freely, it does not apear to be bent.
If it was the roller weights would I just need to open up the weight area and make sure there moving freely?

Unless you were wacking on that shaft with a hammer I doubt you did anything to it. The roller weights are behind the variator plates, if the variator nut were removed, the weights need to be reset in there properly when you put it back on. But you said you never got those opened. I am thinking the loss of power is unrelated, unless you got grease or oil in the belt area causing it to slip. Did you try oiling anything or clean with anything that could cause the belt to slip? If not.... Any air leek causes loss of compression, look again for loose connections, any small cracks in the airbox (bent areas crack fairly common ) or in the intake manifold.

You were 100% right! I found a air leak were the air box hooks right on to the carborator. It just happened to be a problem around the time I was messing with my belt. Thanks so much for the help.

No problem. It's like a Murphy's law thing, two totally unrelated things can and will go wrong at once.

2012 fact 50. Only 178 miles and has a wah wah vibration in floor pan. Handle bars shake when held with one hand a 10 to 40 MPH. No shut off while ridind it. 10 minutes to crank. 1 mile later shuts off again. Only had for 2 weeks and the problems started. Not to happy. Was very pleased when their was no problems.

wa101 First, you should start your own thread in future for your own problems/questions.. The first thing to address is the vibration. You need to go over the entire thing for loose or missing nuts, bolts, and screws. This should be done when you first get a scooter and before you ever ride it. Notorious things for loose things falling off. Secondly, you may be in need of a valve adjustment. Look in the tech section for valve adjustment, and oil change information, 49ccscoot.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=4ttechand also how to adjust the carborator. 49ccscoot.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=carb&action=display&thread=429Also, check your spark plug boot and make sure it's on the plug snug.
