Hello,
Is it possible that Yamaha Jog original belt needs replacing after 6.500 km ? I am using it full throttle with a heavy passenger sometimes. Can this usage destroy the belt too soon?
It needs replacing after 10.000km according to service manual.
Thanks

That's a pretty average mileage for belt issues IMO. More weight, more speed, more power, more heat, are all harder on the belt. They need replacing when they need replacing. That's my outlook. I would do checks much more regularly than 10,000km, more like 5,000km or less. I would say it's time for a full inspection of the CVT now. Here's a vid that covers that... www.youtube.com/watch?v=2EjW-iSP-Q8

Would be a good time to check the rollers, too. Belts can last quite a long time, but yours is having a hard life.

Rollers were almost square actually, that caused the problem but belt was not in good shape too.

that is why the service manual also lists a width spec for the belt and if its like the manuals i have for us yamahas it recomeds checking the belt every 2000 miles so that would be 3200 km for you
