hello everyone, i recently cracked an exhaust bolt that goes into my 2 stroke cylinder...but managed to get it out and get the exhaust connected properly again.
now though, the scooter is unresponsive with the throttle, and the revs come down very slowly after i rev it. i think this is called idle hanging? not sure. i test drove it and its weak as anything. weird because exhaust seems connected much flusher than before.
the scooter was on its side (engine on floor side) while fixing the bolt. i think the engine was possibly a bit flooded when i went to start it again but it starts ok now just isnt revving right.
i've tried playing with idle mixture, seems to make no difference.
on a side note, is the hole on the outlet meant to be oval-like instead of circle? i thought that was a bit surprising.

did you destroy the gasket did you run for a long time leaking are you sure you do not have an exhaust leak start the scoot put a gloce on and plug the exhaust and if it doesnt die right away you are not sealed and have a leak in the exhaust

thanks for the reply. i've found i have an exhaust leak. is it as easy as replacing the gasket in this case? because im concerned about the surface being perhaps mildly damaged during the removal of the broken bolt.
can i use 700 degrees suitable gasket maker here?

ok cool, do you put it on the gasket or next to it? and how long do you give it before mating the surfaces? thanks!

i put it on both sides of the gasket if its a crush washer style gasket then i will try and run a bead outside after if i can get in there i leave it sit atleast over night a full day is ideal
