As you can probably tell, things are a little bit different around here. We were just eligible to upgrade to the new forum software today, so I did so. There are a lot of new features. I'm trying to get used to it all myself, so forgive me if you notice things being a little off for a bit. I think prob the biggest thing I'll need to get used to so far is the more narrow layout. I always browse on a widescreen monitor so it's now about half the screen is used, but I guess that's part of the more phone friendly deal.
I like that the PM and notifications are now more noticeable with little pop up sorta speech bubbles.

I'm not sure how to get smileys back yet. It's a drop down menu now. It took a bunch of code in diff places to make 'em all work before, but now the forums use plugins to mod things. Don't see any yet for smileys, but I'll be looking into it.
EDIT : I think I can get them back. It'll take a while though. Lots of smilies.

Not sure how smartphone friendly its gonna be yet but the constant popup ads at the bottom of the screen is very annoying. Just my opinion.

I don't get any popup ads. I use Opera primarily and sometimes Firefox for my browser. Do you mean the related topics and stories with the little links? I'm not sure if I like that or not.

looks cool....i was on my way to Kentucky yeasterday when i got on my phone and seen this....it was kinda strange on the phone but it is more phone friendly...  |

Hmm, it's gonna take some getting used to. The smily's are there, you have to click the "view all smilies"in the drop down box and the font is nearly invisable so it's easy to miss. Some of the smilies are still missing in the quick reply.

The smilies are a work in progress. They weren't there at first. I'm adding them back a bit at a time. I don't see any way to change the font color there to make it more visible.

Are you able to tweek the theme settings at all?
I use the Darkness, I switched to the Light theme and the font colors are more compatable, the View all smilies is a very visable blue. I'll be going back to the dark now, since I know it's there I can navigate it, may be a problem for new guys.

I can change all themes and make new ones. I think that's a link color, so if I change that all links will change. Maybe just a little tweak will make a nice difference? I'm adding more smilies ATM, and then I'll see if I can make that any better. Shame it doesn't look like it does in the quick reply when you're in reply. Very visible there.
EDIT : I made it a more reddish tint. Don't wanna change it too much and make links invisible elsewhere.
