I recently did a motor swap on this scooter as the other one blew 2days after I purchased it as the seller didn't adjust the amount of oil needed to keep it running properly.
Any way. With the new engine in and idling smoothly it runs great until I get to 40kmph and it starts to jerk. So I thought it was the rev limiter. I did one of the air box mods to increase air flow and now it runs far better. I can Max out the speed to 55kmph.
Do I still need to adjust the mixture on the carb?

You should make sure the idle mixture is set how it needs to be for best idle and throttle response and check the main jet as well. It'll let you know if it's way off because it'll soft seize, but dialing it in farther would require a selection of jets and trial and error or checking your spark plug after a bit of WOT running

currently it idles smoothly with the engine not sounding like it wants to die out and the rear tire not moving on centre stand. Throttle response is good as I can accelerate 0-50 in 4 seconds flat and then cruise at not even 1/3 turn of the throttle.
Every thing is stock except for the air box mod, so what jet sizes are a good starting point and what should i be looking at on the spark plug after WOT running. and whats a soft seize?

If youhave modded the air box for more air you will need to up jet your carb. If you take your jet out it should have a number stamped on it, you will need to get a bigger number jet. What you are looking for is a nice chocolate colour on the plug. If it looks a bit white it is running lean.
