My friend's kymco is having a stock idle jet ( he has the lc model, mostly the same setup as you) As I know, idle jet is too small when: 1-Scooter is hard on takeoff and or bogs down ( near to stall) when it idles for a long period of time when it takeoff. 2-Idle is tricky to adjust, gets really high to very low by turning the screw a little, or the screw is near to or is fully turned in.
As I know, it's too high when: -Engine rev fast with the screw mostly or fully turned out. -Engine flooding at idle, or running really rich, idle hard to keep steady.
If you change your idle jet, go in step of 2, it reacts real quick. What is your stock idle jet normally ? It might be too high at the moment.
EDIT: It's as I know, if someone can help you better than me it will be perfect. one of my ATV was having a too high idle jet, idle was really high and I was able to take out the idle screw (Keihin PWK) and it was running fast anyway. I dropped from 41 to 32 idle jet and it was tricky to keep steady, choke was needed to prevent it from stalling on idle and it reacted really fast when I turned the screw. The 32 idle jet was too small.

Yes ! Try 2 higher, if it's worse try 2 smaller, see which one runs the best. Maybe 38 will be allright, idle jet size difference reacts way faster than main jet.

If the mixture screw doesn't do anything, a larger pilot will probably fix the issue. If you can't find success with a different pilot, you may try raising the needle (lower the clip) to richen the mid throttle mixture a bit. Sometimes helps to make the on and off throttle response better.

Better check for intake air leaks before you change anything. It doesn't take much of an intake leak to cause your problem.

My 2T 49cc came with a 19mm TK carb with 40 idle and 68 main jet . When I installed a 47.6mm BBK I had to idle it up or give it throttle . Sometimes after going fast it would idle high then slow down 30 seconds after stopping . From what I read many use a 42 or 45 like I will have next week . What size mm is your carb ? Stock intake ?

blowing smoke..no air leaks been over it 3 times with carb cleaner...NOTHING...
skuttadawg thats just what mine does but the idle does seem to come down alot quicker than it used too...and with a 35 pilot and a 70cc malossi sport bbk im bound to see problems ( i dunno ) hopefully get the pilots tomorrow..erm carb is 14mm small ass thing and i guess the intake is the same give it next month and ill be investing in a bigger carb..17.5 i was thinking
