Another member here some time ago had a ZX crank do the same, on the same side to i think? If im not mistaken it was even an un-true, or out of balance crank that 190 straightened out for him. I find this odd with Kymco,s known reliability in the S-series engine. It is the other small 2T style engine that they use. I have one here now with over 124,000kilometers on it and still running good.

From my work experience it suffered an impact and fractured the metal. Possibly from banging on the crank trying to remove the fly wheel. This engine is a copy of the Honda AF16/18E, thats why I bought it. 81 clams from the Kymco dealer with the connecting rod. Everything else is in good shape. New bearings of course.

Really Brent, over 124,000kilo,s on the clock.. Its an 04 Kymco Super9. One owner. He had the water pump replaced and the top-end by choice. I looked at the old top-end and it still looks good lol. Matter of fact, i think the only reason the vari side crank bearing has a slight amount of play is because the last guy that worked on it for him took 1 roller out of the vari. Just one, one 10g roller really throws a crank outta balance at over 9,000RPM tho. But yeah, im still amazed at how well it ran on the test run before i started taking it apart. Speedometer has always been fine he said, and it seems right on with the scooters speed. No reason to see this guy lieing.?. Good engines! All the Kymco engine,s, all far as i know (the small 49cc based ones) are cloned from Honda.

That's crazy. The most miles I've seen on a small scoot with the original engine in person was closer to 10,000. lol

Cool though huh? I mean to know it is actually possible to run one over 50,000miles without anything major. I *think i mentioned this owner to you before? A concrete finisher that will and does ride this thing to and from the job sites knowmatter the distance. Add up to 70 mile one way trips at times to work and home since 2004 and the miles add up quick. Maybe it lasted so long because they are highway miles lol

I think the amount of riding he did may be just as impressive as the life of the scooter.

I hear ya.. In a car it would be nothing to have that many miles on an 04 model, but a scoot?! WoW!
