First hey, new here, been lurking but decided to finally post now that I'm getting going on my scoot again. I have an 03 Eton Beamer with the 1e40qmb long case. I want to put the 54mm jug and piston on it to bump it to a 90cc. I know I have to open up the case and upjet. That's no issue. My question is. Has anyone ever pressed sleeves in the wrist pin holes of the piston the reduce it from a 12mm pin to a 10mm pin. I have use of a full machine shop just wondering if it can even work before I put the money down on a kit.

All 54mm pistons use a 12mm pin(as far as I know!).A closed end cap could be fabricated(brass is good) thus the lock ring would hold the cap/pin assy.BUT,a 54mm jug is designed for a 42-45mm stroke, with a 39mm(50cc) stroke the port durations would be waaay off..If you want to use a 54 jug, then you'll have to get a different crank and machine the crank area as well as the cylinder recess..There are several 50 to 103 build threads on here that will help you with it if you want to go there..

yeah i might as well just open her open and do the whole 103 build. or stick with boring the cylinder for a 48mm piston and keep my 10mm crank and not have to pop it open. that would bump it to a true 70.6 cc

You'll be way ahead just ordering a 70cc cyl kit.If you bore the 50 jug the port durations get worse as the ports are angled, thus they get milder...

i have an airsal 47.6mm kit with a trashed piston and the walls have some scuffs from a soft seize. was going to use that

Easy-off oven cleaner works well for lifting the aluminum scuffs from the jug.If its not too bad another std piston could be used after honing the bore..

yeah i just figured for the same price i can get a piston a little bigger and the .4mm overbore wouldn't kill the port timing.

Isnt the Airsal cylinder lined with nickasil?
