I Bought my used tgb 2007 key west 49cc moped yesterday and I rode it all day yesterday no problem topping out at 45-47. Today I had been riding it for about 30 mins I had just got gas and drove for about a mile then it would not respond when I gave it gas. It would go when I gave it a little gas then it stopped going altogether and shut off. Started it back up immediately but as soon as i hit the throttle it spudderd and shut off again. I let it sit for 30 mins and started it back up again, worked fine, rode for one minute and it stopped moving when I gave it gas and died again. It starts up fine everytime. There is a bit of thin white smoke coming out but not much. I understand you need to mix the gas with the oil in 2 stroke engines. Should I do the same with this even though it has a seperate oil tank? I dunno if this is the problem or not. But does anyone know what this may be???

:welcome: to the forum.
Since the scoot is new to you and ran until you put gas in it, my first thought is that perhaps the previous owner was pre-mixing oil with the fuel because either the oil injection system isn't working properly or they've disabled it. My first steps would be to verify that the engine is getting oil. Check that all hoses are attached to the oil pump, reservoir, etc... and in good condition and that you have oil in the reservoir. Remove the oil feed line that goes to the carb or intake (not sure which on that model) and verify that oil is coming out of it when the engine is turning over.
If possible, it wouldn't be a bad idea to contact the previous owner and ask if they were pre-mixing and if yes, then why?

TGB carburetors are prone to get dirty and not run properly. Give it a good clean, and clean your exhaust with gas, they are prone to clog.

Do I need to take apart the whole bike to get to one screw?

I'm not familiar with that model enough to know for sure, but I'd see if the seat bucket can come out without removing anything else. That's pretty common and then you usually have plenty of room to reach the carb.

Okay I will give it a try. Never worked on a scooter but I have worked on a dirtbike. The layout is way diffrent but I will give it a shot.

I thought I fixed the problem but now it dies while idleing and it takes about 5 mins to start again. I got stuck at a couple redlights. Is it a bad coil?

Have you tried adjusting the idle mixture and speed?
