i have a 2004 jalon linhai cityscape 50cc 2t (JL50QT-21) its a minarelli clone sez yamaha by linhai on side cover,i need to know how can i tell what contra spring and clutch springs are in it from the factory and where can i get a belt? i thought it would be the same as my 02 yamaha vino since it is a copy of that bike but the belt on the jalon is a 997x16.6x28 i cant even find one but its clearly stamped on the belt, the belt has worn down and is only about 15mm or so im loosing top end it has dropped from 56mph to about 50mph this bike screams, i quit riding my yamaha when i got it, any info would be great, thanks vandredi

Yeah 15mm is too worn for sure!
Honestly, on all my Minarelli street builds, short and long case, i use Bando 788-17-28 with the best results of all the belts ive tried.

:welcome: to the forum.
Sounds as if you have found an oddball scooter, or at least I can't find info on it. The model itself doesn't come up on any searches for me. I also can't find your belt anywhere. I know there are 792-16.6-28 Mitsuboshi belts that come on some scoots as well as 785-16.6-28 belts that some Yamaha's use. Both of those are essentially the same size and can be swapped with the most common belt for clones, a 788-17-28. There's also an 878-17-28 that comes on some minarelli scooters and ATVs with a sort of stretched out CVT/CVT cover. That's the longer belt I've heard of for a minarelli and yours still says it's over 4.5 inches longer at 997mm.
I hope maybe someone else here knows about your scooter, but for now I would suggest trying to measure your belt length with a string (easier to follow the belt around, then you can stretch the string straight and measure it) and see if it really does come out to 997mm or 39 1/4 inches. I'm wondering if maybe it's got the wrong number printed on it. If it's like the most common belts it would come out to roughly 31 inches and if it's like the long case Adly type belt it would be about 34 1/2 inches long.
Another option would be to see if the Vino's belt fits. A proper fitting belt should be able to sit on drive boss (center) of the front pulley while it's outer edge reaches to about the outer edge of the rear pulley. If what you have is really a 997 length belt, the Vino belt should be way off... prob won't even stretch over the pulleys or if you tried to fit the 997 to the Vino it would be so long it would just hang off of the trans parts.

Judging by your stock speeds I'm wondering if you got one of the factory 90cc engines. A stock 49cc minarelli clone really shouldn't be doing 50-56MPH unless it's down a hill.

You need to measure the inside diameter of the belt and see what you have.
