Hey all :-)
I'm new here and my problem is .
When im riding my moped anywhere , even at a speed of 35-38 mph . The revs are through the roof i.e 9000rpm. At them revs surely it isnt good for the bike . And i was wondering what it could be making it rev so high . P.s this is my first bike , and i dont really know much about them either so any help is much appreciated

:welcome:
Heavier roller weights in the variator would lower RPM. If the scoot is modified, it could need to keep the revs up to stay in it's powerband. 9,000RPM really isn't anything crazy for a scooter. Sounds high if it's stock though.

since it is a cobra ill say first hand experience the rings are junk they give to easily and ther old bikes so youd probably need to get neew top end. if the rings are going then that could be a coulprit for high reving. my cobra would got to 9k then reset back to 8500 like a glitch so theyre not 100 percent accurate.

the piston rings. youll probably have to do a engine top end rebuild on it and id suggest getting a 70cc kymco cobra big bore kit, because OEM 50cc rebuild kit costs almost the same.

Not the rings if it revs to 9K. Oldgeek has the ticket. You will also need to check the rollers when you replace the belt as they are in the same location.

If your only seeing 35-38MPH at those RPM,s im betting the CVT drive boss is still restricted.?
