hi new here, i just installed a bbk on my keeway f-act new jets and new pipe and open filter, took it for a few break in rides to make sure everything was good, took it over my friends for a little more distant ride it seemed ok but have a couple problems it wants to rev but the rpms go up to about 8400 than it they drop to around 6800 before going back up and seems to take awhile for the rpms to come back up and is affecting the speed it does get up to speed the fastest was 48 mph didn't want to push it any further but it takes awhile to get there , i suspect that i may have to tune the cvt, right now running 4 gram weights with 1500 clutch springs and 1000 rpm torque spring, also when it takes off it is very hesitant and bogs before the scooter goes, right now in the carb i have a 90 main jet and a 40 pilot jet, i have checked the spark plug and it seems good light brown color, any suggestions would be appreciated thanks

Check for air leaks. Re-think your carb main jet with an open air filter (should be around 100+)

Check for air leaks. Re-think your carb main jet with an open air filter (should be around 100+) I would disagree... I used a 90 main jet in my 70cc s6 street race bbk w/ cone filter and s6 pro rep exhaust, and it was way too rich. I just went for a ride after installing an 88 main, and it was much better throughout the entire rev range. As for OP, it bogs when you first start have you tuned the air/fuel screw already? You should start out checking that and making sure it's in tune. There's a tuning guide for Dellorto carbs online, which is likely what your carb is cloned after (check to make sure though). As for the revs, it may be "switching gears" too early, so you'll have to tune the CVT, but tune the carb first.

I prefer the hard break in method, and I swear by it.
If you don't go for 20 minutes straight and hard on the maiden run with that new BBK then you are going to have problems.
And if you are running any synthetic blend what so ever that is a huge "no no" until you get 1000k on it.
Check your gaskets and seals and get a compression test.
I would get nothing bigger than an #88 Main and what pipe do you have? The wrong pipe can cause a lot of problems.
Soft break in's are a horrible thing to do to an engine IMO.

I suppose you think that is a good way to break in a 2 stroke?

2-stroke, 4-stroke, if it's got piston rings, proper seating is still top priority. To each their own though. Also, you should delete your double-posts

i think i have it tuned pretty good now, compression and spark plug were good went a little smaller on the pilot jet and that seemed to get rid of the low end bogging, changed the weights and went a little lighter about half gram, it seems to pull good now and keeps the rpm's up fastest run so far was 53mph

Hmmm, pilots never usually have to be changed, did you mean the main jet? Anyway glad your scoots going and running though. And 53 MPH? very nice! I need to replace my weights, which weight worked best for you? Which one did you end up with? It would help me out to know, and also what is your body weight. Thanks man

i had put in a 40 pilot jet thinking that i would need to and it was too much so i put the original back in and it is much better, i went with 3.5 gram weights and left the 1000 torque spring in, i am around 220lbs
