I see in project 90 it wouldn't run with a restricted 49cc pipe but it was ok once the restrict cone was cut out. Was that pipe tested on project 49? Just wondering how much of a difference in performance there is on a 49 between restricted and derestricted. My pipe seems ok on my 49 but I'm sure it has the cone in it and am curious how much better it would be with that removed? Sent from my HTC Evo 3D using proboards

Once I cut that restrictor out of the header, it went straight in the garbage. No re-testing anywhere. lol
I'm not sure exactly how much difference it makes on a 49cc, but no way I'd buy a performance pipe and let that stay in there. You are definitely missing out on performance if the restrictor is intact. It's a relatively simple task to remove it too.

Thanks I'm sure I saw that cone in there but it was my first scoot and first new pipe, the bike was a week old when it went on. I figured it must be there for a performance reason, it was just the wrong one lol. Should have known something was up when I put the light rollers in with the pipe and couldn't get out of the driveway, engine wouldn't rev that high and I blamed the stock reeds so I put half light and half heavy rollers in and called it good.a week later I got cf reeds and that helped throttle response and the engine would rev better but still wouldn't take all light rollers. I need to take that out and see how it works. I'll post the diff it makes to help out others. I'm going to be bummed if it comes alive and I've been riding it restricted for four years

Prepare yourself to be "bummed"......... and watch your plug, it may need a richer main jet!

As soon as I can dig into the garage I'm going to pull that pipe and cure it. I'm running the stock jet now and it's a touch rich but I have the next couple bigger ones in the tool box. A tachometer and a set of tuning rollers and I'll find out what I'm missing
