I know that the Hoca variators PartsForScooters sells are pretty popular. They're a good variator at a good price.
Small Spline : PFS PN : 169-39

I've had trouble losing the slides or guides for the back plate though. If those guides are missing, the variator will slosh back and forth and wear itself out as well as making an awful racket. I contacted PartsForScooters about replacement slides and they simply sent me a link to a search for "variator" on their site and told me that's what they had. I had a suspicion that the slides the Hoca variators use are just GY6 50cc variator slides. Sure enough, they'll work. So, if your Hoca performance variator loses these little bits, give these a shot before you ruin your variator.
