Guys, I need help After building my 72cc with all of those mods that I wrote, I got a first problem, and it's a biggie... I was riding home from my GF, the scoot went like crazy...at one moment, it changed sound and stopped pulling (like it was overheating, but it wasn't), there was no WOOOOT sound from the air filter and it went like a 49cc... The morning after, I start it, same thing. Then I clean out the carburetor...I got my speed back but two or three new problems. First, it won't idle. I got the idle by 20% up, it just works for a few seconds then dies with a "SPOOOSH" from the air filter. Irregular, like it's knocking. Second, when I let go off the throttle, it stays on for a second more (like I'm letting go slowly)...annoying. Third, the sound from the exhaust is different. Especially when I let go of the throttle from WOT. The sound is gargling, like it wants to fire off but it can't (because of the stock exhaust). I thought that the mixture screw got moved somehow, but it didn't. Tried setting the mixture before 10 minutes, didn't help. It's the same if it's hot or cold, no difference at all. Any ideas??

It sounds very lean, recheck the main jet, pilot jet, needle, float level and carb diaphram.Could be a vacuum leak causing it to run lean too. Also check your valve adjustment..

I checked all of that. It sounds like it's lean (or rich) only on idle (which it cannot obtain)
Cleaned the jets, that was my first guess...very strange...I tried adjusting the mix screw again, no change whatsoever.

Check the intake rubber elbow for a crack.

Had a 150 with the same symptoms before, if all the above doesn't help... check for broken valve spring/s

Sounds like what mine did after I upgraded to 70cc. Turned out to be valve adjustment.

I did the valves today, check everything out, same thing. Then I took other (also modded) carburetor from a friend and the scooted fired from first try, working gracefully on idle Finally, solved problem. Now off to see what's up with my carb! Thank you guys for helping
