got a question my uncle wants me to check over his bike to make sure all is in order but ive only worked on newer 250s not alot of them but i have done a few. this one is alot diff than run of the mill chinese stuff.
my question is i want to clean the carb but there are literally between 8-15 lines to the carb... i want to change air filter and oil also gear oil.
do i use the drain bolt right next to the fill cap? its a sideways cap on the engine. and it sais to use engine oil in tranny? idk about that could i use 85-90 oil in it? and be safe.
any other things to check would be helpful and id like to do some valve adjustments but im not familiar with the outside adjustment brackets?

If it says engine oil in the tranny take it seriously, i know in the older honda civics and Crx's try took 10w30 in the manual transmission. Seemed weird but thats what they took.

That is good advice about the 10w30 motor oil. The air filter is accessable and you can get a uni filter with a replacable foam cover. Not much to do to it but I would recommend adjusting the valves if it has over 5K miles.

Wow! I bet a lot of folks can appreciate such a simple and elegant valve adjustment method. Those true Helix motors are said to be tough and durable as anvils and will run flat out continuously as a matter of course.

I rode one and the ride was a smooth as glass. So big and comfortable. The controls are easy to understand and the thing just ran so good.
BTW: CF Moto 250's are the same.

I have a clone Helix engine in my Bali 250.. It is pretty simple to adjust valves. If you get it wrong, the scooter will not start. But you just try it again until it is running good. Honda Helix engine is so simple to do a valve adjustment. If you have trouble, well I can tell you how to do it, with the engine not running too.
There is no tranny on the Honda Helix( that I know of). It should have a dry belt and centrifical clutch. There is a spot located behind the crankcase, near back rim on crank case side, that has little 10mm bolts. The top one is to fill with gear oil and a bigger bolt is the drain plug..
