I got a package in the mail today that was an SIP box... but I didn't order anything from SIP? Then I realized it came USPS not FedEx, and it was from Robert in Indiana (2strokd). Hmmmm. I open it up and there's a note on top.
Below the note and SIP stickers, theres a box wrapped up in bubble wrap. It turns out to be a Koso analog tachometer and apparently it does temperature too. Comes with installation hardware and instructions and everything.
This thing is really badass... but why is Robert sending it to me? Hmmm. Oh yeah, there was a note.
The note begins, "This tach is for you, from all of us on the forum that you built. Thank you!" It goes on to say that 2strokd (Robert), 190mech (John), stepthrutuner (Reg), JMstar50 (Dave), Reign (Ben), and drawkward (Josh) all pitched in and paid for the tach. Robert says that everyone was not asked to pitch in because it would have been too much money for what you wanted to get, so he included just enough of the regular and very active members to accomplish the amount necessary to get the tach. He wanted me to include that, so anyone that was not asked to help out would understand why.
;D I can't thank all of you enough! This is very cool. It will certainly be installed on one of my scoots, T1 most likely. I don't have handlebars or a running engine right now, so sorry, but you may have to wait to see it in action. lol I'm really not sure what to say other than THANK YOU ALL! ;D This is the best donation ever!
I told a friend about it. I said, "Everyone always says you meet so many crazy people on the internet and stuff like that. All the selfish, demanding, ignorant, people seem to live around me and end up coming in contact with me for some reason. The people I've met on this forum or that came with me from other forums are cool as hell AND they used their money to buy me something. I can't even get a $5 tip for putting hours of labor into a job for the scooter folks around here and giving them big discounts or free parts and things like that. These guys come together and decide to help me out apparently out of appreciation for my site. It's a damn shame these aren't the people around me and some of the other folks that live nearby aren't the ones many miles away."
Anyone that read my thread about quitting scooter repair will probably already know this, but I have been in bad state of mind for a while now. A lot of stuff has been getting on my nerves. This really does help. Maybe the people around me are all out for number one and would step on anyone to help themselves, but you folks sure aren't like that. I didn't think you guys were anyway, but you know what I'm saying here I hope. It's just very cool to get something like this after feeling like everyone around you just wants what they can get from you.
THANK YOU ALL!!! I especially wanted to thank the folks involved in this, but thanks to everyone that participates in this forum. You may think it's me that makes 49ccScoot what it is, but it's not. All of you are what makes this forum a great place to be.
