Wrist Pin
Wrist pins come in two common variations on Chinese clone Minarellis, 10mm and 12mm. The bearings of course are not interchangeable, so you need to know which you have before selecting a wrist pin bearing. More info HERE.


The length of the wrist pin bearing may depend on the displacement/bore of the engine. Smaller pistons cannot fit the longest pins. O.D. with the pin out may vary depending on the design of the needle bearing.

Random Bits

Soft Variator/Crankshaft Nut
When tuning, the nut on the crankshaft that holds the variator may be removed and reinstalled quite often. This puts the threads on the crank at high risk of damage or failure. Over-torquing can strip the threads the first time it's done, depending on the severity. Yamaha scooters, at least some, use softer nuts so that the nut is more likely to strip before the crank's threads. There are two common thread sizes for these engines, M10 x 1.25 and M12 x 1.25. The Yamaha nut listed only works for M10 x 1.25.

Woodruff Key

A #3, 1/8" x 1/2", woodruff key from a local hardware store can be ground or filed down just a bit to work in the crank/flywheel if you lose one or forget to order one for your new crank.


Piston Circlips

Circlips should be replaced after they are used. If you have to remove them, put new ones in. Some prefer the C style (without ears) as opposed to the G (single ear) or double ear types. Wiseco offers 10mm and 12mm C-type clips that may work with Minarelli and clone pistons. Their thickness is stated at 0.039" or ~1mm.

Gearbox Drain Plug

The gearbox drain plug is M8x1.25mm. HERE is a magnetic plug.
