Hi, I really need your help as I'm completely stumped. I have a 2t keeway hurricane G reg. was running fine then completely died and will not start. So far I have had the carb checked and cleaned New spark plug and ht lead Clean air filter Checked fuel lines Charged battery AND it still will not start. It seems that fuel isn't getting anywhere other than the carb. After turning over for a long time, the spark plug was bone dry.( I was told it should of been a bit moist) Compression if ok, could be a bit stronger. Was thinking of trying the piston rings and reed valve next, would you also suggest that ? Ps I did get it to start after sitting for an hour but died again after 30 seconds, didn't idle.

If your turning it over a lot, the spark plug should be wet if its getting fuel. You could try taking the fuel pipe off, then sucking on the vac pipe to see if fuel is coming out. It should only come out when there is a vacuum. Or if nothing comes out it would be your fuel petcock. You could try putting a tea spoon of fuel down the plug hole just to make sure it is a fuel issue. It should start briefly.

Check the petcock as aeroxbud suggested. If that seems OK, clean the carb again hitting every passage with compressed air and carb cleaner and check float height.
