Yesterday I rode my Maui to Greensboro for a bank run, about 12 miles. What a smooth running 4T! The wind plays hell on this poor, underpowered little scoot though. It shifts into high way too soon because of the 7.5gr rollers and when it's speedometer tells me I'm doing 40, I have to laugh because it feels nowhere as fast as the Xpeed at 40. The thing is, it's a nice little runabout and my first scooter, so there is a sentimentality attached to it. It went to Florida with my brother last year for him to use and to be returned before he went back to the Czech Republic. He couldn't figure a way to get it back to me so I paid a couple guys $500.00 to go to Florida and bring it home where it belonged. I initially paid $849.00 for it, tag on the 500 and I have a scoot I can't possibly get rid of without literally giving it away. Guess I'll keep the little beast and maybe do some mods to make it a bit more interesting than it presently is.

I feel the same way about the Mati. It seemed so much better BEFORE I had gotten the Popcorn up and going. I also feel the same way about selling the Mati. Got too much money invested into it. But then again, it also needs more money put into it to fix some serious issues. If I have someone eager to buy it from me I might sell, but I'm not going to make a classified or anything. Do some more mods, I say! BTW - I was just wondering what the shipping on the scooter would have been through a company that specializes in motorcycle/vehicle shipping.

I checked on one vehicle shipper and got a quote for $607. Another place advertisese $495 for any cycle. I think you might get it cheaper using uship, but he paid a fair fee judging from those.
Get that transmission in tune and maybe do a big bore someday if you need more.

Should be an easy task to get a bit more performance out of it without breaking the bank...parts for 139qmb's are half what we pay for 2t's. It's hard to just give up on a scoot crying for power...

Went and traded the Maui for an 8' Dinghy...wife and I went to Bullocks for ice cream and outside the store was a gorgeous wooden boat for sale; Okoumi plywood and Mahogany, hand built, for $400.00! The kit for one of these is $850.00, the finished product somewhere around $1200.00. Add a sail and rigging, $2000.00. I asked if he would be interested in trading for a scooter and he said yes. It is in my shed awaiting a new owner willing to pay what it's worth. Score! :nana: Surely someone in Annapolis or St. Michaels needs a tender for their yacht! ;D

There are certainly enough rich folks floating around Oxford and St. Michaels area that it shouldn't be a problem to get a profit. Gonna buy another scoot when you sell it?

Now, that's a silly question; of course I am! LOL I don't know really Brent, I have need of a tractor for the property here...might use the money for a down payment on one with a bucket and box grader.

Ideally, I'd get that Aprilia Di Tech Factory and use that as my tractor. Kidding of course. It would be nice to have a new scooter because I need two in the shed to keep one another company; the xpeed doesn't seem to like the boat...say's they have nothing in common and she (the boat) is pretentious and ostentatious!

Get the tractor and if we get snow like this last winter again you can make enough money with it to buy a fleet of scoots next spring. ;D
