polished my flywheel cover, looks mint.
left citric acid in my tank for a day after degreasing with thinners twice, rattling bolts in it and rinsing with water. all the rust is gone. put acid back in so there is something in it but going to empty it and neutralise with baking soda then try and get it dried I don't know how to do that. have heard to rinse it with petrol, would that pick up the water and carry it out? either that or duct tape a hairdryer to the filler neck lol
also do something to stop it rusting again. don't want to fill it with fuel as its just a frame and don't wanna be doing a paint job and rebuilding it with a full tank, but don't wanna splash out for fuel tank sealer either. thinking just put a little petrol with a big glug of oil in and swish it about, or even just oil???
left my fork parts and crank arms and shaft in the citric bucket.
got the old pedals off the crank arms too. thinking some BMX pedals would look sweet
order should be here from puchshop.de any day, recieved cable set and spare wheel bearings from ypvspares yesterday

Ahhh, this brings back memories. Last time I worked on a moped, it was a Puch Magnum mkII. But I worked on a friend's Maxi too... the front end was so tiny and flimsy that I found a front end off a motorcycle with a disc brake and welded it on. It was my first experience welding something onto a gas tank. Boy, was that fun! an old shipyard worker cautioned me to fill the tank with water first and it STILL caught on fire several times during the weld. Hah. Lookit that intake manifold! I had a lot of fun trying to get around that thing... the top frame tube of the Magnum is real close to that manifold, so hard to make your own manifold that will fit in that area (piston port design, I made a manifold with reeds).

Have to get this updated with some pics, sold my white one to maggy he has a thread for it now and my other mate bought the red twinshock I kept the blue one and red hardtail, completely stripped and has the frame all blasted and ready for paint, bunch of hardware and bits bought for it and all parts to rebuild engine including a 3 shoe braced racing clutch, 6 port airsal 50cc kit, stuffed crankshaft, lightened bellhousing, pod filter, expansion exhaust etc, only thing left to buy for it is EBR forks and a bigger carb and itll be getting a full on proper good build. So im doing the red one first before the blue one. (the blue one is now blasted as it had a shit paint job) Stripped down to frame and cleaned tank, started rebuilding. All new bearings, cables, bolts, etc. But didnt paint it, like the worn paint. Glad i cleaned the tank Fitted new bars, going to chop to width of stock bars. Put new damper rods in original forks. Fitted new round light, polished flywheel cover, stuck rebuilt carb back on with a bigger jet and pod filter, fired some cables in, wired for lights. Was playing with a quick action throttle but not going to work with any cables i have so leaving it for now. Got a set of mags for it, some dick had brush painted with hammerite had to sand it all off by hand took hours (red pic is primer) - A small selection of the parts i have for these Last order i got - Biturbo - Tecno Circuit- Atomic 3 Shoe Clutch w/ Atomic Clutch Brace, Airsal 6-port single ring 50cc kit, CRK/Treats Stuffer Crank, Lightened Bellhousing. Bing 14mm carb w/ pod filter and the lights for the red one The supervisor with some new tyres
