I own a Yamaha Vino Minarelli engine and recently got to work on a Yamaha Vino. Ive noticed some differences in the fan size and shroud design worth noting and sharing IMO. First off, the Yamaha Mina comes with a big ass 90cc+ (even bigger?) fan on a stock 49cc. I dont have a pic handy of a stock CPI 49cc style fan to compare but i can tell you it is about half the size. Surly this is going to aid airflow a bunch over what i am used to seeing in a CPI style Minarelli, or China Mina. Another thing worth sharing is the size of the shroud. The exhaust hole is much bigger, and the two halves seal together much better. CPI shroud left, Vino shroud right. Again, sorry i dont have more pics of the complete shroud on the engine, etc. But hopefully this gives an idea?. Might help a hotter running engine run cooler with a mod like this? I actually cut the exhaust hole about 30% bigger on a mild 70cc CPI style mina. Only problem is, no temp gauge to compare results.. Going by the looks of the Vino shroud i cut mine the opposite. My thinking is, the head needs to dissipate the heat the most..

The Vino fan should be larger than the 90 fan even, as I understand it. Never had one in my hand. The 90 fan leaves little room when put under the shrouds that have extra clearance for it. Not all 50s do have that extra clearance for even the 90 fan. I think it would be a must to either use Vino shrouds or modify the stock shroud (cut apart, fiberglass back together using the fiberglass to space it out) if you wish to use the Vino fan. The 90 fan has a chance of bolting on, the Vino fan I don't believe can without at least the fan shroud and maybe the engine shroud as well. If you had a large fan shroud on your 50, you can usually find 90cc fans from ATVs like the Polaris, Kasea, Dinli, Adly, E-Ton, DRR, etc... for $10-20 on eBay. You can also buy them from kaseaparts.com for about $15-20 shipped IIRC. kaseaparts sells the shrouds and I believe I saw 90cc shrouds at Parts For Scooters now too. The whole Vino setup doesn't look bad either. I just looked it up on a Yamaha parts retailer. If you were to buy just the fan and both shrouds, minus the seals and washers and all of the other stuff shown, it totals $20.09 shipped USPS. When I added all the parts they carry from the diagram (minus the rubber mat #14) in the qty they show, it still only totals $29.64 shipped. www.boats.net/parts/search/Yamaha/Scooter/2001/VINO%20-%20YJ50RN/AIR%20SHROUD%20FAN/parts.html

I just checked on eBay and you can buy the stuff cheaper new from what I'm seeing.
If it does indeed all come out farther with the Vino fan, some exhausts may not like this. I don't think it'd be a problem for many, but some really hug the fan shroud. I know the Phongeer 90cc street pipe would not work well. It burns even the 50cc shrouds.
