Still got 'em on my PHBLs. My logic is very simple on this one... the DellOrto carbs have been the easiest to tune of any carbs I've had, they run well, I have no trouble with them in any conditions, so I'll just leave 'em be. I know that's not the performance attitude, but I'm by no means a carb expert and I don't see a need to look for improvement from these carbs.

Mikuni and Bing use them too,I think its for MX use,going thru whoop-dee-doo's makes a carb crazy with out a slosh plate.I always keep them there..

That is pretty much my understanding. I can't see how it could hurt street riding or help it either. I guess some people eliminate it so they don't have to keep up with an extra part every time they change jets.
