Ok, i have a xy Chinese scooter, 4stroke, 2008 2345mi. 49cc My wife has a 2008 jonway 4stroke 49cc 623mi. when mine was all stock, as hers is to, the jonway runs, and drives 100 times better, and is so much faster then mine, and no matter what i do to mine, the jonway just blows the kickstands off mine,,lol Is this because of the brand of scooter? Are they faster or slower according by name? Or is there any other reasonable explanation for this? Thank you all for any thoughts you can give me, i just need to hear something because i can only think that it is because mine is basically a no name, and it is slower and less powerful because its a no name..

Compression differences? She has a "secret 63cc" or 72cc? Better tune/timing? Casting/porting differences? Gearing? Hard to know. Even with cars there are some factory freaks that others just like it could not run with. I had a 97 V6 Firebird that other V6s could not keep with. I was called a liar when I told the other V6 guys that mine was also a 6 on a couple occasions. I ran even with stock V8 versions of the car till high speeds. Don't know exactly why, but I didn't complain. There are reasons, just depends how hard anyone is willing to scrutinize a setup I suppose.

Yeah there were some "50cc" scooters imported that were actually 63cc's but sold as 50's. That might be the difference.

did you and your wife switch to see if the speed difference isn't related to weight.
