since my new moped disaster came about my mom had her friend look into a new one. He told her about a nice 400 one on craigslist. My mom just told me she would gives 400 cash tomorrow to get one if it was decent enough. So I said hell yea. Went on there found thes two. Can I get some feedback on to Whig would be nicer ( or easier to maintain I guess) both said they would meet me tomorrow. So far all I know is why's on the post an that the secon one has no ignition and is started with a screwdriver? Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Lol. Any input? tippecanoe.craigslist.org/mcy/1743750549.htmltippecanoe.craigslist.org/mcy/1743021721.html

Is the whole mixing oil and gas a rough task? Or is it relatively easy?

It's very simple. Most stock scooters have an oil injection system that will automatically mix oil in as long as you keep the oil reservoir full. Pre-mixing is easy as well. You get used to the amount of oil you need per gallon and carry a little oil under your seat so you can mix at every fill up. Takes a minute longer than a normal fill up maybe.

K now I was reading that post. My simple question is as a scooter noob, should I go for a two stroke or a 4. Last one was a 4. And it had problems from the get go. I just want simple and reliable. I found a Honda Elite on cl, said 500 obo so I offered. It's a 2t tho so I figured I would ask.

2Ts and 4Ts can both be good reliable scoots. 2 strokes are easier to do big bore kits or engine maintenance on since there are less moving parts. There are less things to fail on a 2 stroke. 4 strokes usually make more low end torque, but 2 strokes usually rev higher and make more horsepower. 4 strokes are easier to tune IMO, largely because running lean on a 2T is more likely to cause engine damage. 4 strokes get better gas mileage. Tuning beyond the usual bolt ons gets more complicated with 2 strokes.

2T and 4strokes can both be good daily drivers...IMO the a good stockish 2T is your best bet. They have more power than the fours do stock, and it seems that 90% of the fours are gonna need worked on to get straight or tinkered with every weekend. Im not saying that two,s dont need work or periodic maintenance, just less of it! Since i have been helping others by working on their scooters, almost every one has been a four stroke thats broke. I have worked on a couple of 2T, but then i never see em again. I call to check up and the customer says it runs great . I gotta love the fours tho, puts money in my pocket for further 2T scooter research :riding: . If you would like i can help you find a decent ride, or at least check it out before you buy the one you like

Take that honda, it looks really nice. Let me say that there is nothing like the smell of two stroke in the morning. mmmmmmmmmmm My wife hates it but i love the smell. I have a 125cc 4 stroke and a 50cc 2stroke but still prefer the 2. 2 strokes g-o-o-o-o-d 4 strokes b-a-a-a-a-d. I just recently read Animal Farm again

the Honda elite is mine if I want it at 5 when he gets offf. He had said he doesn't know what year, and that the spedomenter did not used to work, and he replaced the cable and it still didn't work. I'm not too sure if it's working or not, but you can't go too wrong with a Honda I've heard. Lol

Little tires, but quick stock and run forever!

Here's the Yammy equivalent that already has pipe. Rear brakes should not be a big deal. Talk him down at least $75. tippecanoe.craigslist.org/mcy/1726566021.htmlEDIT: You'd be most happy with the Derbi though, i.e., space, speed, potential, front disc brakes.

That derbi is sweet. It's the same guy that's selling the Honda elite so I figured whilei was checking out the Honda I would see what the least he would do on the derbi also and see if mom doesn't just love me lol. We will see later on tonight. I'll post pics of whichever I decide to splurdge on.
