Leave the filter alone. A stock airbox works just fine, makes less noise, and reacts less to changes in weather. All stock, there's no need to upgrade the carb yet. If you plan on a big bore kit and pipe in the future, then consider a 19-21mm DellOrto PHBG or clone. The clones are a little cheaper and many seem to have good luck with them. Those will fit the stock airbox and intake, but you should remove the snorkel from the airbox if you upgrade to a larger carb. Whenever you do jetting, get a jet kit or selection of main jets. You need to tune so it works for your scoot, your elevation, your weather, etc... The stock carb uses Mikuni VM11/22 main jets. PFS sells a kit and Stage6 makes one as well.

Welcome to the forum, Austin. Unless you have at least a mid race setup a standard air box is ok. Big filters just use more fuel and make your scooter noisy

Wow you guys are already taking me to school haha, well put it this way, what mods should I look into ? I top speed is about 43 and I want to get to at least 50. Well that's my main goal, I'd be happy with a consistent 45 mph. Any ideas? And funny parts for scooters is right up the road from me in largo Florida.

A pipe and the tuning to go with it (stiffer clutch springs, lighter roller weights/stiffer contra spring, and possibly a larger main jet) would prob do what you want. I prefer a big bore kit, because of the torque and all around power. That would need jetting and maybe roller weight change. PFS has all of that, but if going with a pipe I'd also consider a Leo Vince ZX or ZX-R, which they don't carry.

Save your money on the CDI unless you find yours to be rev limited.
Most commonly the jet could be anywhere from no change to 10% larger with the addition of a pipe.
