just also ordered a new intake and dellorto 15.15 carb along with boysen reeds. and a sprocket. should be a great little bike. I was thinking of turning in into an island cruiser and gearing her nutty, still tempting to do....gear it for 35mph tops. who knows what i will do.

I'd stick with the current gearing then. 35MPH tops will have you revving hard putting around at the normal 30MPH in 25MPH zones. 15mm carb is an upgrade? Wow. Maybe those little Tomos engines don't like to breathe, but I'd think a 70cc should be at least 17.5mm if you were gonna upgrade carbs. Of course you'd need an intake to do that justice. Are you getting just reeds or reeds and a reed cage? If you want it to be nutty for in town use, have you considered clutch springs (or are they available for the Tomos)? Remember the cateye geared to 30MPH? By 25MPH it was screaming. That would be a little rough for in town. If you want something that tops out at 35, I've got a Sunl sitting here that I'll trade you. ;D
Sorry, I'm ignorant of exactly what is out there for a Tomos.

Is anyone familliar with how much power this should accomplish? At a minimum I'd say your power should double. Those stock Tomas' don't even have boost ports do they? With the pipe and jetting you're probably around 3. Stock output is probably right at 2 don't you think?

A souped up Moped would be cool to pass a good scooter with, especially if you could peddle it when you passed em.

Even better if you pedal and ring one of those little bicycle bells. Add the Wizard of Oz " witch music" FTW.

Since that's KPH, it's going 45-50MPH according to the stock speedometer in 15 seconds. I'd say that's doable... 120lb scooter + 140lb rider = 260lbs. My scoot and I are probably 450-480lbs and I can do that, using a few more cc. I need a low speed KPH speedo, looks so much faster that way.

Dang thats a fast moped! At first i thought it was on the stand reving. This makes me miss my 83 Honda Express, that thing was a brute. I bought it for $100 road it for a while then sold it for $100, then got it back 6 months later for free. Those are the best deals. I got a guy with a early 80,s Suzuki FA50 that needs a throttle and brake cable, anybody got a good parts source for these? I know its not an actual "moped" but im gonna check.

I kind of like those two speed automatics. Is that shift automatic or manual?
