Ouch. I dunno what to think about the crank and cases till we see 'em. If they aren't in rough shape I'd go for the stock top end and keep him riding.

Crank and case looks ok from what we can see...I just finished cleaning up the stock cylinder. Hope to have it back up and running before dinner. Hard to get any good pics, but you can see were the clip got hammered around. The only damage i could see in the crank is were the clip got wedged in between it and the case

All things considered, it doesn't look bad. If you haven't already, I'd try to flush it out and make sure no bits are hiding waiting to strike again or get in the bearings.

Always looking to save stuff,,circlip groove in transfer channel hurts nothing, remove broke area on intake side of cyl skirt, hone it and fit a new piston assy,,unless I'm missing something....

Got her back up and running good on the stock jug for now . Nope John, you got that right ! I gotta get a hone and piston, but i think your right. It will be fine ;D. We just rode for a few miles with no problems or funny noises coming from the bottom end. It runs surprisingly well for the stock cylinder.

What's different this time from last time as a 49cc? You've been making that cam work overtime! Thanks! ;D It got a set of Malossi CF reeds, a 21mm Dello, and i ported the ex. 1mm wider at the barrel and cleaned the heck out of the flange and all. Also had to rebuild his pipe. Its very old and was literally falling apart. I ended up cleaning it the best i could and welding it all back together for a no leak exhaust. Other than the worn out torque driver it really is an impressing old KymCobra
