Well i finally got my wife Erica to ride Skeedr some. She has been wanting to race since seeing the action a TNG, so i told her its time to get started. I figure a trip around the block is a good start. She has decent balance and Skeedr fits her well....She just needs some seat time :riding: ! One trip around the block quickly turned into three so im sure shes hooked :thumb: !
I got nervous lol :scared: . She did very good tho, im impressed considering i suck as a teacher and she pretty much just jumped on and went :scoot:

Tell her the old man says, "Slow down". ;D She rides that thing like she was born on it. :thumb:

I was also impressed. I expected to see her putting around and being real slow on the corners. I did have to laugh with the turning it off bit. When I put my father on a scooter (he's rode with me enough to know by now I'd think) he presses every other button trying to turn the headlights on.
How long before you have her doing wheelies? Got another helmet so you can both ride? Paxton is gonna need one before long too. ;D

HELMETS! Oh do we need a couple helmets. She wanted to ride so bad up to Wendy's. All of us, and i only have one helmet right now. I was nervous as hell letting her ride Skeedr up there w/out one  ! Its only two blocks but nobody knows when ! I put my helmet on Paxton and Erica and i went w/out. Never again! When we left Wendy's Erica started to pull away on Skeedr and the clutch engaged pretty hard ! She kinda slid ther pipe on the curb but didnt drop the scoot, nor get hurt. A little panicked but nothing like i was :help: ! I said,"no more family rides until we all have helmets and you get some parking lot practice!" Of course i sounded like a dick because i was a bit shaken, so she got upset and took it the wrong way....Blaa, blaa :barf: ! We are better now  !

Glad everyone's OK. HJC sells some good baseline helmets cheap. Might wanna try those out if she isn't gonna ride much. I've got a nice HJC and a cheap HJC and I still wear the cheap one sometimes. Nothing wrong with them, they just don't have removable liners. Not tro make you nervous, but they say helmets that don't fit right can cause injuries as well. Some say it's as bad as no helmet, not so sure about that.

Please, please be sure she understands all the pitfalls of street riding like sand, gravel, oil, water, wet leaves, the slipperiness of the mid-lane section after a rain, slick concrete, etc. Also tell her to believe that every one/thing is out to 'get' her and to always be prepared to brake or take evasive action. Dogs can sometimes be very unpredictable. Have her practice 'panic' stops. She is way too pretty to be leaving her hide on the asphalt and I'd hate to see her get discouraged or fearful.

Well, as far as helmet size goes, I always ordered online. Each brand is going to be a little different. I wear a womans small, my 12 year old daughter is XS to Small, Z1M are snugger than other brands. The size charts are pretty accurate though from my experience. You may be able to download a Motorcycle Manual or pick one up at your DMV. Same things apply to scooters. Dogs, in the motorcycle class they teach to ride slower, then speed up when you get neer the dog. Messes up their timing if they are shootin for you leg.

Good for you guys! But since she probably learned to ride by watching you and got inspired to ride at Twist $ Gone i'd say slow and easy riding is not in her vocabulary Better be shopping for boots, gloves and leathers as well!

It sounds wrong, but I went into a store and tried on the helmet I wanted to find the right size.... then went home and ordered it online way cheaper.
