This how I change my clutch springs. I made a custom tip to capture the spring.
The tool is Lisle 49200. Its around $20-$35 online. It comes with a bunch of tips.
2 Sacrificial 1/8" Allen wenches.
I used a Dremel tool with a reinforced cut-off wheel to cut the Allen wrenches to length and grind flats.
I cut the Allen wrenches to about 1 1/2" in length(note the 3rd on top is for another use)
The first wrench(tip) is ground down 3/8" in length to about .090 in diameter. This is to help the tip fit between the spring and clutch arm.
The next tip is a little more trickier to do. First you need to grind one side 3/8" in length to a depth of 1/32" from the center. Note: see pictures below(cad rendered) for the correct orientation for the ground flats.
Then grind the opposite side to the same depth, but half the length from the opposite side.
Now you need to taper the short side down to create a wedge shape. I suggest taking your time and grind and check in the tool till you get the tip to slide between the spring and clutch.
Lastly a small groove is ground centered in the short side. It should be in the thinnest side of the tip and about to a depth that's about half of the spring diameter.
In the end you want something that looks like this.(click on pic for animation)
When grinding, take your time and keep heat low, if you are grinding and the tip starts discolor or turn red from the heat, you have taken away the hardness(or annealed) the tip and will probably bend or break with heavier springs.
Here is the tool in action.
I can not take full credit for this. I took something I seen online and made it better

Senna1Rossi: Ah, gotcha! Thanks, Fox. Does everyone see the Shoutbox, or just the people who you choose?

Fox: Anyone who is logged in can see it but it's down at the bottom so most have either chosen to ignore it or haven't discovered it yet.
