If its running rich and clears up when you start draining the bowl, the level is high,a sure way to know is use the clear hose setup..

Is the fuel level too high in the bowl? How do we know this? What is the evidence of this? This is an assumption we are working on. If its running rich and clears up when you start draining the bowl, the level is high,a sure way to know is use the clear hose setup.. Yes it is an assumption and I have no evidence other than what I know right now. I'll get a clear hose and give the test a try, conversely could i just spin the drain hose around and open the drain screw? My second assumption that seems a bit more plausible is that I need to re-clean the air passages. I drove the scoot for a day before I realized the air filter fell off. I cleaned all the grit out of my reeds but I didn't touch the rest of the carb. Korea is a pretty dusty country. The mountains are covered in a dusty sand that dries hard as rock. I bet some of that got in somewhere and overnight the gas evaporated from the carb and the dust concreted up something important. Just two theories! I'll work on proving or disproving!

Maybe some errant kim chee got stuck in there too. Really if it is an over filled bowl then the typical problem would be an adjustment to the tang of the float. I know one carb I have has all plastic float and no metal to bend. Probably this is less likely to be out of whack but then if it goes out of whack then harder to adjust. What would one do in this instance? Heat it and bend it? Bend it without heating and hope it does not snap? Well I think the idea of the clear hose is easy enough and will tell you one direction to go in or will tell you not to go in that direction.

I changed the "guides" back to the originals and went back to matching 6gr sliders all around. With the new belt and mid 70 temperatures she ran like a scalded dog today, Goosey, in answer to your reply on page 2; sorry, been busy.

It's working again. I don't know why. The gremlins just moved out. Nothing changed, didn't start last night, it didn't start this morning, this afternoon, it fired up took me for a quick ride around the block then a nice long tuning ride. Who knows? poltergeist? gremlins? I just hope they don't come back!
