All my metric sokets are 6 points. It's just two stubborn bolts that will not budge no matter what I seem to do to them. 2strokd is going to take a look at it sometime in te near future and probably be able to fix whatever it is that is making it run bad, and he said he could also get the twobolts off for me. So we will see what happens after he takes a look at it and rubs his moped magic on this stubborn ped. Haha

Ok so after Robert took a look at it las night it ran good.
I got up this morning and reset the valves to .004 inch like he told me to, and now it won't stay running.
I rode it around the block and it died twice, surging both times.
We both were stumped last night as to why it won't idle right, and now I guess I'm just lookin for more options on what to try next...
Swapped out the carbs to the newer on I had, changed the valve lash, carb was cleaned last bight by 2strokd.
Anyone have any suggestions as to what I should try next? I'm pretty stumped here.

I just sat there and played with It for about 10 mins.
I put some seafoam in the gas tank and made sure it didn't die for roughly 5 mins. I hopped on it and rode great for about a mile.... Bum bum buuuuuum... Sputter and died. Luckily I was close enough to home where I kick started it right up and made it back before it sputtered again.
I don't really know if that helps in doagnosig it at all, but it's improvment from run 1 this morning atleast

Those bolt ended up being a PITA to grind off! Time consuming! Ok, since you set the valves and it still is acting like that. I bet it the other thing i was suggesting to begin with..... I bet you have a bad ground or connection some were. The way i had that thing idling nice, then outta no-were it just dies like ya killed it is what leads me to believe its electrical. We have eliminated anything else. Time to do some wire chasen!!!! Other then that and maybe a cvt tune and your good, its a really nice lil scoot!

As far as finding an electrical problem, where do you even begin? Lol do I just pick a wire and just go from there or is there a system? Any tutorials on electrical issues?

I would check all connections first. Start it up and wiggle wires until it dies? Adding that ground strap i mentioned would be a good idea. Start with the easy stuff first! Hows the coil wires feel on the coil? Are they tight and snug? I would just go ahead and pull the plastic off that way it not gonna get in the way. Put it back on after you know the problem is fixed.

Well, the sputter and die thing, is simular to what my scoot was doing. Eventually it wouldn't start at all. Lost spark. After eliminating the wires, spark plug, coil, CDI, went to the stator. In my case the gap was too close from the pickup, to the tab on the flywheel. When it got a bit warm it closed completely and sputtered and died. That's something you can check easy and free.
