hi everyone i just bought a peace sport 50 it was crashed and it looks like more than one person has tried to fix it. So i went ahead and checked the motor to see if it was locked up and it wasn't replaced all broken body parts replaced gas tank(had rust in it) put a battery in it and it will not turn over and no head light....now I'm missing the switches on the right hand side so i will start looking for them but i didn't want to put any more money into it till i could get it running....now the question is and it looks like to me that all the systems work together....so i see there are safety switches on the brakes but i see wire for the right handed one. I've spent some time reading this sight it was a great help...any help would be great i will go over it all again tomorrow thanks for any help...I'm looking forward to being a full on scooter guy. by the way how do you track down exactly what kind of scooter i have there are so many out there the best i can find is it's a sunny side 2???

On some scoots the kill switch, which is on the right hand side, will disable the starter. Some it only disables the ignition system. If nothing electrical works when the key is on, check the fuse first. The headlight on many models is AC powered, so it won't come on until the scooter is running and the stator is supplying power to it. If you have spark you can try kickstarting to see if it fires up. Just a small warning, if the ignition switch fails to cut it off (it should kill it but we don't know if all is well) then you have no kill switch to shut it down right now so you'd have to choke it out or adjust the idle low so it stalls or something to manually shut it off. For most Chinese scoots we just try to match up what they look like and know the engine type to find parts. There are so many names out there because one manufacturer's scoot can get rebranded by dealers/distributors a bunch of times. Peace Sports is a very common one though. My TaoTao is pretty much the same thing as what I think you have, and they're commonly just referred to as "sunny" or "sunny style" scooters. www.peaceindustrygroup.com/22-50cc-moped-scooters

For the brake lever switches you should have both sides hooked up. Don't need it that way for the starter, but the safety switch doubles as a brake light switch (or the other way around) so one side won't light up your brake light if not connected. If that's not true you'd either need 3-4 wires coming from each switch or two switches per side.

IIRC mechanically, the peace sports (if its a 50 cc) is the same as a taotao ATM50. Check that the dash lights come on w/ the key in and turned to on as a starting point.
