Hello, i'm new on this Forum and i realy like it!!!! Last week, i buy a Kymco People 50S 4T 2007 with 2560km only! Is like new, all original no modification only de-restricted and i know the motor is a GY6 139QMB. The top speed i have, on a flat road is 72~74 km\h (42~45 mph). The scooter is not very fast on start, i know the rollers weight are 8.5G in the original variator and i want to change the rollers... I dont want to loose top speed ! What rollers weight i need to buy? 8.0G or 7.6G?? Do you think if i change the variator for a performance one i see on Ebay, is gonna help or i'm going to have the same performance with the 49cc motor??? Thank's for your help! Vermi!

First off... :welcome2: Nice scoot. I hear they use better crankshafts and other parts compared to the Chinese GY6, so it makes them a good platform to play with. I'm a firm believer in the power of big bore kits. Nothing else you do is likely to give you the same power increase. That said, if you wanna try some low buck tuning a set of lighter sliders or rollers sounds like a good idea. I would say 6g-7g sliders or 5-6g rollers would be a nice improvement. I've never roller tuned a stock motor, but those work pretty well on my modded scooter. The sliders are more expensive, but I like them so far. They seem to wear less and they do a good job of letting the revs stay up for better acceleration while opening the vari farther than a similar roller might. They are supposed to wear better as well. A good vari can usually increase acceleration and some folks have reported top speed gains. I've read good reviews of this one, and the price is great. Don't forget the "49ccScoot" 10% off code if you order there. www.enviromoto.ecrater.com/p/4703345/ncy-performance-variator-139qmb-scooter

Thank's for answer 90GTVert . I know big bore is the best, but i don't want to open the motor for the moment... I do one time with my other scooter (Piaggio Fly 50) and it was i big job!
Is it good to remove the center bolt of the variator with a Electric Impact Wrench ?
I didn't have the special tool (round) for the Variator.

Ok, i just remove the roller and is not 8.5G i have, but 5.3G! I think the owner who have this scooter before, change it when he de-restrict. The rollers 5.3G they have a lot of flat spot on it so i change it for the one i have in stock here 6.1G, i can't try it for now, it's start rain a lot here... :swear:
Is it better to put new 5.3G or change?

I'd try the 6.1s and see how you like it first since you have them around. It could have been flat spots causing your trouble. If it still takes off too slow, then try lighter rollers or sliders.

I buy and install new rollers 5.1G. Now the acceleration is good and i think i didn't lost top speed. I'm going to buy a new Variator soon, i see the NCY Performance Variator 139QMB from www.enviromoto.ecrater.com. Is realy not expensive! I don't know if is realy different of the original Kymco variator? Vermi! :scoot2:

Nice! Dunno about Kymco varis specifically, but it should be an improvement over most 139QMB variators.
