Daniel! Tuning with rollers or sliders often offers some benefit versus the stock tune, as well as checking the tune of the carburetor. If you watched the Project TaoTao CDI video, you should have seen a section about modifying the pickup to advance ignition timing. That's a good mod to try that's free if you have the tools to do it. Normally I recommend big bore kits on the 50s for big gains... but a 50cc moving up to 70cc or above is a 40% or larger increase in engine displacement. For the 150cc you only add about 5cc or a little over 3% without machining the cases for a larger bore or going tearing the whole engine down for a stroker crank. The stock bore is 57.4mm and the largest kit that normally fits without machine work is a 58.5mm big bore (155cc). If you want a lot more, I'd probably consider a full build with a stroker crank to really up the cc. That's gonna be expensive and it's a lot of work though. For small gains you could add a pod filter and a performance exhaust. Those mods will require a larger main jet and possibly other adjustments.

I've actually been considering making major changes but comes to the conclusion that for? what my scooter offers is well. maybe eventually buying a pre-owned yamaha bw´s 2 stroke or a used scooter vento zip R3 50 cc 2 stroke and I just started to restore it for fun. I am amateur mechanic, I have some tools and I followed several of your videos and all the tao tao project. thank you very much for all the dedication and effort to provide valuable information. daniel

No worries on the posts. If you asked me to type in Spanish it would be nothing more than random statements about shoes, cheese, and school supplies. 2 strokes make fun projects. You can get very impressive results from little motors.
