Got it. Thanks for the input. Two last noob questions. Is there anything wrong with the blocks? And is there any where to find port and polish info on the heads? I'm getting ahead of my self but I'd rather learn it now.

The blocks are basically OK. I won't say they're of great quality, but they work for the average build. You can find some porting experiences here with a search. If you want really good in depth info on porting in general check out Four-Stroke Performance Tuning by A. G. Bell, Engine Airflow by Harold Bettes, and others. Most of what is done to these engines is cleaning up and port matching. Sometimes it doesn't take a lot to get a gain. |
