Welcome! You'll find a lot of good information here. What kind of scooter are you getting? I am getting a new TaoTao CY50T3. It should look something like this:

Definitely a nice looking scooter. Make sure you do your PDI on it. Change oil in motor and rear end (first thing before you even start it up), change spark plug.

Definitely a nice looking scooter. Make sure you do your PDI on it. Change oil in motor and rear end (first thing before you even start it up), change spark plug. I'm going to change out the motor and gear oil, spark plug, and give it new fuel line+filter, vacuum lines, new main fuse, and go over the wiring and bolts, silicon/loctite as needed. I would like it to last a long time, I got 15w40 Rotella to break it in with. Sort of wondering what this carb is gonna look like; getting to the pilot jet looks easy enough, getting in the float bowl, not too sure yet. lots of options though. I'm gonna just do my best to take my time on the PDI, and go over everything real good before first drive. I have the tools and whatnot and I've owned and worked on motorcycles. But this is my first scooter! Once the PDI is done and adjust A/F.. I'm gonna try and just do any mods/adjustments one step at a time. I was told lighter slider weights may help with the hilly roads around here. That may be one of the first things I look at, short of any problems though, I may do well to leave it mostly stock for the first few weeks and let her break in some. Does anyone know the NGK Iridium equivalent for the copper C7HSA plug (I think that's the one I need?)

I'm pretty sure the NGK Iridium is C7HSI.

Welcome to the community Nice scoot. Let us know how everything goes w/ it. IIRC many of the tao tao machines are mechanically similar, and there's several of us here w/ them. One thing to note though, I'd try to get into the float bowl of the carb and make sure the float is working / adjusted properly. I had the stock carb on my machine dump gas out the top while riding, which I think was caused by a stuck needle / float.
