The new enforcement of the law achieved it's intended purpose --- to raise revenue for a municipality hurting for revenue in the recent downturn of the economy. It's kind of like a sin tax in a way. At least the cops don't get paid in a pro-rated manner based on the number of people they bust or the amount of revenue they generate.

We got it, thanks Brent! Well, thanks to all of you fine members and others from all over, you have helped me by donating your money towards me hiring an attorney. Thank you all so much! Thanks to scooterrebel,s donation we are up to $302  ! You guys are great! Thank you thank you thank you ;D ;D ;D!!!! Im selling my pickup to my neighbor to get the rest for the job, then we shall see what happens in court? I go next month but it just the inertial hearing, not sentencing or anything. Maybe it will go to trail? Who knows??? I will keep you all posted. |

If you do not get it settled in a good way for you. I'd see if you can just do week end road work or something.

Went to court this morning and they wanna hang me for riding my scooter. I went on a "dry run", w/out an att. just to see how serious they are treating the MOPED speeders....  NOT GOOD! The prosecutor handed me a copy of a plea agreement they are offering. I looked... I asked him if he had red any details of my case. He said yes he was aware i was riding a scooter and wont drop it to a misdemeanor. I said  !!! I will be back later. So, off to the lawyer with my copy of this plea they offered...This is gonna cost allot  Im not getting into details on the plea right now, i just got home a few minutes ago and have a headache. All im saying for now is 6 months with good time in work release or house arrest  What a F%cking joke  |

Friggin' sad man! You'd think they would have better things to do like busting meth labs or solving murders but instead they have to crack down on the "Moped menace"
If they slap a fine on you as well, make the smallest minimum payment per month they will accept.

Sorry to hear that. Hope the lawyer helps. House arrest, around here they charge you for the rent of the ankle monitor. Probably not something you can afford. Six months, wow.
