Woke up to no job

Back in January i was injured at work. Partial tear of my rotator cuff. Workers comp so far has paid for my time off wich has totaled about 30 days within those months and they have provided medical as well. I was placed on light duty since then. Recently I was deemed to have reached maximun medical improvement with a permanent partial disability now. Today I was told that the company cannot adhere to the light duty status on a permanent basis so we parted ways today.

Wow..that sux and is some bullsh!t.. I have a complete torn right rotator cuff and man do they hurt! I have chronic seizures from head injuries while in the Military and suffer severe PTSD. I was denied Disability 3 times! BUT..we have many here in town that get it for Drug addiction and Alcoholism!! WTF?.. Soo I paid in MY MONEY for 40 YEARS!!..and the Gubment has the right to deny me.. MY OWN MONEY??. Also I was hit by a car while running(I am a 3+ mile per day runner) I could not walk for just over a year without a walker or crutches. I was a Cardiac Tech at a Hospital..and fired for missing work due to a Medical condition..from a Hospital where sick and injured folks go? It was because for a year i could not perform my job functions to their fullest. So I was terminated. My 40 bux per month Union Dues did nada to fight it or help me out. So with my torn rotator cuff I cannot lift my arm above my head..I have pins in my leg and walk with a limp still..and also have frequent seizures so I can't drive a car. Yet I get nothing for it. Bro you gotta be a Drunk or Druggie if you want any of YOUR MONEY you paid in all those years. If you have an actual disability you can't get it. Exceeded your time to heal they said?? Funny..but NOT funny.. Hospital told me the same thing. Huh? A 145lb guy hit by a 4,000lb car going 55+ mph and I should have been up and dancing around in the 6 months they gave me.. yeah ok.. 21 years I served..and even the VA is dragging their feet trying to get me any compensation for service connected injuries and disabilities. Shot twice and blown over 100 feet by an explosion..all in my service and medical record..but they say it does not 'Meet their criteria' as a disability. Let's see.. Bullet killed one Kidney..explosion dislocated my right arm causing a complete rotator cuff tear and loss of hearing in my left ear..as well as seizures from the head injury when I went through the side of a building after the explosion. Then hit by a car and tossed about 200 feet to the side of it after being launched 25 feet or so in the air. Yet The disability folks and VA say I am ok and don't qualify for MY OWN MONEY!!?? Dude I would fight this.. I have been trying for 5 years to do that..but have gotten nowhere. So I am gonna become a Drug addict or Street bound Alcoholic so I do qualify for something...

Glenn, -join the club! Paid in for 30 years, completely torn up, poisoned, and NADA... Damn government. Both of my rotators are completely gone due to a work accident at age 20. No compensation whatsoever. I will say that I do use different muscles to perform arm motions now, -looks strange sometimes but it kinda works. I can't throw a rock or baseball 40 feet.

Same here..can no longer throw a snowball at my grand kids..I gotta toss it under hand..kinda sissy like.. I like you was also poisoned by chemicals used in weapons etc.. They sent me a letter to notify me..so I went to the VA to find my Lead..Cadmium..Zinc..Ethylene Oxide and many other toxins were way high. 2 of them are 2,000 times what is allowed by the EPA. I get nada for it..HOWEVER..I do have to consent to blood work done by the EPA every 6 months.. Wth? That makes me a Lab Rat that is free for them to use and test on..while I get nothing?.. I feel like some kind of College Science project or sumpin..

Under FLA law they have to pay me my future lost wages and future medical bills so Im not SOL. Its just not having somewhere to go each day thats going to be strange.

Wow , you guys have it bad . Yhe problem eith workmens comp is the fraud sters . Or so the insurance companies Claim .

@ tvnacman..yes Sir..the ones that need it don't get it..and the ones who don't..well they do get it.
flqu06 Well that is a good thing. No place to go does feel odd..been there. When I retired from the Military I said..'Not gonna work for one year..kick back..hunt..fish take it easy and live off of my retirement pension' Wellll...2 months later I had enough hunting..fishing and goofing off..I just had to go back to work. Wanted to..but didn't want to..if ya know what I mean. So just for fun I dropped my Resume off at a large Hospital in the city near me..thinking at least I tried..now back to more hunting and fishing! But nooo.. 2 days later they call me..and want me to start work in 3 days. They needed a Cardiac Tech in the Cardiac Critical Care Unit and were impressed by my resume. That lasted a few years until I was crippled for over a year while out for my daily 3 mile run....which caused me to get canned. So now I just have my own small Scooter parts/repair shop. I am my own Boss..and I happen to actually like the Boss i work for now..lol.. But now I am to the point that getting down to work on them is difficult and painful. So I won't be doing it much longer. I am not asking the 'Gubment' for a free hand out..I am simply asking for MY MONEY that I paid in. But they say no. Yet again Drug addicts and brittle Alcoholics in my city are considered disabled and get theirs..huh? But then again most of them worked so little that the amount they get from what they paid in..is very little at all. Those of us that have a nice fat account from the 35+ years we paid into it heavily..are the ones denied. Why?.. My best guess is that what we are entitled to equals what 3 of the 'Addicts' get. So the 'Gubment' doles out the money to the lesser paid instead. Yet it is our own money..the 'Gubment' did not pay into it.. WE DID! So why do they call OUR own money..a 'Benefit' or 'Assistance'..when in reality...it IS OUR 'entitlement'..hmmm

I feel the same way. The DOE is always after me for beryllium testing. They never mention the solvents and 'other' chemicals I worked with on advanced product development. One doesn't even exist officially. There is no MSDS on file available anywhere even where it was manufactured, -but I have seen it. It is so toxic just a trace or touch of the liquid killed in in less than three minutes. A guy I worked with died from it. He never made it to the emergency shower, not that it would have done any good anyway. I spent several years wearing a full face gas mask every day handling the stuff. The gas mask left scars on my face from wearing it. There was no protective clothing or Hazmat suit available. It went right through anything in seconds. It is a powerful carcinogen also, 10-100 times worse than vinyl chloride. The only good thing about that one was that it smelled so bad you could tell it was around. I got a whiff of another solvent I used in process development that knocked me out cold. No MSDS available for it either, secret stuff...

I shake so bad even working on a scoot is out of the question most days. I have lots of things I want to do but the flesh and brain is weak. Besides I have no money for parts and pieces.

I want MY money too! If I had it I might be able to enjoy the last few years of my life. I don't figure I have many, I will be lucky to see 65 much less 70. I qualified for the maximum disability due to my earnings before my brain stroked out. SS is a Ponzi scheme that only pays out if you play the game correctly. I did not want to be on the 'dole' while I could still function at all. Now that I can't it is too late. It won't matter soon anyway. I quit playing the game in 2011 and stopped filing tax returns. I earn so little it does not matter. By the time they prosecute I will be dead and I won't leave any assets behind...
