Howdy folks, I just purchased a 2009 Qlink Hawk 50 in poor shape for 30 bucks. I have been lurking here and on a few other places learning about what it will take to get 'er going again. Looks like most everything is there, just in a state of disaray. Looking forward to getting it running well and eventually working to get more than stock out of it.

Thanks. FYI, I live in the North Carolina foothills. It will be interesting trying to get this thing up some of the hills before I start modding it, but as I am just now getting to know the primary systems and getting some idea what parts I need. Looks like bolts so far but I won't know until I really take a proper inventory.

The foothills of N.C. huh? I know that here in east K.Y. a stock 50 2t.didn't like the hills around here. Be careful though modding these things is kinda like smoking crack, once you do the first little bit youre HOOKED. Only difference is with scooters it can be safe. I am new to these little marvels too, and was hooked the first day. I had my firsy stock scoot for less than a month before I started looking for more power. Welcome to the addiction. Muhahahahaha!

Welcome! You live in NC., you should attend this event; NASRA Spring Nationals. Link; 49ccscoot.proboards.com/thread/7909/nasra-spring-nationals-shelby-detailsThis would give you some good ideas what to do to a scooter, and meet people. I wish they had something like this in MI. I missed this but I've seen and driven around Shadyside, on a day there was nothing going on. Will possibly make it to this next year as my son lives close to there.

As it turns out, I ended up getting evicted, and my jackanapes of a landlord decided to be difficult about letting us get our stuff. We ended up losing a lot, including the scooter. I am now in the low country of SC, and looking for another scooter. I'm sure they will do well on the flat roads here. Just need to find a way to barter for one or get one really cheap or on payments as I have no legal way to get to a job. Bah.
