You're going to have to supply some pictures of your current scooter to get a definitive answer on that but if there's a 150cc version of a 50cc scooter then most likely it'll work. I am guessing you are trying to skate past all the registration laws etc... That's a good plan I suppose getting a 150cc scooter and putting all the 50cc body on it so it's a 50cc if you get pulled over as long as the cops don't delve too deep into the VIN numbers and engine #'s. I do think it's a big risk however in case the cops decide to run all the numbers because that's falsification of registration which is a felony here in Cali. The cops will arrest you and take you scooter so you'll have to ride the 150 after that so why not just get the 150 and register it legal and all so you can haul ass with no issues?
