Hey I got a 06 PGO Trex 50cc and my daughter drives it around. The speedo goes right up to 70km/h right after you take off and it stays up there. Sometimes is looks like it's working good but I know I'm not going 70km/h.
The thing is amazing and a blast to drive but she needs to see her speed. We just pulled it out and getting new tires and the snow is almost gone so she will be wanting to ride.
I also got no flashers but still trying to figure that out.

I had the same system on my bicycle when I was into cycling and it worked great. Do people just head to these right away because we can't fix the stock speedo?
I'd like to keep the scooter clean for her and not worry about someone stealing the gadgets.

Welcome to the forum!
Chinese speedometers are garbage. They must all have the same ratio. All 3 of my scooters are way off. Like I've said before, the Chinese aren't good enough at math to make an accurate speedometer. Even if you buy a stock replacement, it probably will still be off. Aftermarket is the way to go if you want accuracy.

Welcome to the forum. Is it digital or cable operated?

I agree its the cluster. you can probably score a replacement on ebay. they are accurate enough for normal use. You can unscrew the cable from the back of the unit and spin the front tire to make sure the cable turns also. Usually when it does what your saying the cluster is bad.
