I probably should have mentioned that it's a 2 stroke....

Well, yes I guess you should have but the 2 stroke still has an air screw on the carb. that needs to be right.

There was a sticker on my scoot that said "Idle mixture not adjustable" What exactly does that mean?

It probably means you cant adjust the idle up nor down on you carb.?. Or it could mean your idle/air mixture is not adjustable?

Sometimes a carb will have a brass cap over the idle mixture screw so it can't be tampered with but the cap will come off. You know if you really want some quality advice you should take some pics and post them here. A pic is worth a thousand words.

They also fill over the mixture screw sometimes allegedly. I've never seen one filler or capped in person though.

I'll try and adjust it sometime this week. I'll let you guys know what happens and post pics if there is anything out of the ordinary. Last time I had a look though I'm pretty sure the mixture screw was normal.

Can somebody identify the 2 screws with the yellow arrows? I assume the larger screw is the idle speed. Is the smaller screw the air mixture?

Big top screw is the idle speed. The other is the idle mixture.

Thanks Brent. Does the mixture screw being on the air intake side make the adjustment different than if it was on the engine side? I was reading somewhere that if it's on the engine side it's a fuel mixture screw, and if it's on the air intake side it's an air mixture screw. Does turning it clockwise still richen the mix?

Turning it clockwise will richen yours. You are tight about them being different from carb to carb.

That screw is for the idle jet only. It doesn't affect the high speed mixture. It's for smoothing out the idle.
